WordPress uses numerical coded URL’s to better serve the blog nature of the platform. It makes some funny looking URL’s so it’s a good idea to use “pretty permalinks” that display the page or post title instead. Seems like somebody should have mentioned that in the setup, and I have read that it is a very common mistake. So if you use WordPress, go to your Dashboard and open Settings/Permalinks and select the Post name structure. It’s apparently the one used on the top sites in the blogosphere. It shows http://mysitename.com/post-name/ and is the best way to give your site simple and memorable URLs.
